The “Fisheries and Oceans Canada Habitat and Restoration Scholarship” Established by Fisheries and Ocean Canada, the “Fisheries and Oceans Canada Habitat and Restoration Scholarship” valued at $5,000 is awarded to a full-time graduate student registered in M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs. The criteria for the award includes a high academic standing in graduate and possibly 4th year courses in the area of research undertaken, the appropriateness of the field of study and the research progress made by the candidate, as indicated by his/her advisory committee. Students must be involved in research in aquatic ecology that has relevance to Whitson Lake, with emphasis on fish habitat ecology and restoration in the Greater Sudbury Area. Applications should include a letter of intent, official transcript and an advisory committee letter. This scholarship is awarded once a year to a qualified Canadian candidate by the Selection Committee composed of representatives from Fisheries and Oceans Canada and the Department of Biology The student recipient must demonstrate financial need and must be an Ontario resident as defined by OSAP.
