Blakes Scholar Award (BLSAI)

2nd Year Blakes Scholar: A gift of $5,000 will be awarded annually to a 2nd Year law student, who, in their first year, obtained an academic standing in the top 10% of the law school class, and demonstrates financial need. Additional selection criteria may include membership in a historically disadvantaged group as outlined in the Ontario Human Rights Code, involvement in the community, participation in extracurricular activities in the University or at Law School, and whether a student has multiple responsibilities and limited support. 3rd Year Blakes Scholar: A gift of $5,000 will be awarded annually for a 3rd Year law student. Preference will be given to a third year law student who was the previous 2nd Year Blakes Scholar recipient, who continues to demonstrate financial need, and in their second year obtained an academic standing in the top 20% of the law school class. Additional selection criteria may include membership in a historically disadvantaged group as outlined in the Ontario Human Rights Code, involvement in the community, participation in extracurricular activities in the University or at Law School, and whether a student has multiple responsibilities and limited support.
